The Mindanao State University – Tawi-Tawi College of Technology and Oceanography hosted its first-of-its-kind “Parangal Para sa mga Pinakanatatanging Magsisipagtapos” for its exceptional and outstanding graduating students at the Henry V. Kong Gymnasium on July 19, 2025. The event celebrated not just academic success, but also the heart, grit, and leadership that define true excellence within the MSU-TCTO community.

The Guest of Honor and Speaker at the event was Associate Professor Aljemedin S. Jaudinez, a Summa Cum Laude alumnus from the Class of 2015. Currently a dedicated faculty member of the College of Education, Assoc. Prof. Jaudinez holds a Master of Arts in Education, major in Mathematics Education, from UP Diliman. This year, he embarks on a new academic pursuit as a PhD student at North Carolina State University, USA—furthering his vision to advance education through research, leadership, and heartfelt service.

A decade after graduating as Class Marshall and Summa Cum Laude, Assoc. Prof. Jaudinez addressed the graduating student-awardees at MSU-TCTO’s Parangal 2025—celebrating stories of grit, excellence, and transformation.

“Mga mahal naming estudyante, it might sound cliché, pero libre lang naman ang mangarap! Shoot for the stars! Strive to be excellent employees or successful entrepreneurs or freelancer – because you can do it! Maging top-notcher or mag-publish sa Scopus, kasi kaya n’yo ‘yan!... Dito pa lang, you are all Champions already!... Katulad ni Julpae, bawat isa sa inyo ay may unique story, different journey of sacrifice. MSU-TCTO takes pride in creating opportunities and transforming lives – including yours. Tonight, we celebrate your stories and your sacrifices. Thank you, Mother Dolphin, for your unwavering commitment to recognizing student talent and achievement."

The celebration highlighted the honorees who were conferred various awards, including distinctions in University and College Leadership, the Gawad Tsanselor para sa mga Natatanging Mag-aaral, and several Special Citation Awards. The recognitions spanned a broad spectrum of achievements: Athlete of the Year, Performing Arts, Broadcast Journalism, Public Relations, Exemplary Service, Research and Publication, National Reserve Officer Training Corps, International Exchange Students, Outstanding Badjau Students, and Exceptional Performance in National and Regional Competitions. Each honor reflected the unique contribution of each awardee—affirming that success isn’t one-size-fits-all, but shaped by passion, grit, and the courage to lead.

The Parangal para sa mga Pinakatatanging Magsisipagtapos marks a new chapter for MSU-TCTO—a celebration of voices rising from the margins, of excellence grounded in purpose, and of leadership shaped by service. Behind every applause was a story; behind every step forward, a legacy. This Parangal isn’t just remembered—it lives on, in the journeys it continues to inspire.
