About the College of Islamic Arts and Sciences

The College of Islamic Arts and Sciences (CIAS), an integral academic unit of the University, was established to address the critical need for strengthening Islamic Education and promoting specialized studies across the Tawi-Tawi region and the broader Southern Philippine archipelago. Its history is a testament to the institution's enduring commitment to merging academic excellence with spiritual and cultural preservation.

₱85-M Halal Research Center to Rise at MSU TCTO, Advancing Halal Innovation in the Bangsamoro

Strengthening its commitment to research, innovation, and community-responsive development, the Mindanao State University Tawi-Tawi College of Technology and Oceanography (MSU TCTO) is set to establish a four-storey Halal Research Center with a total project investment of ₱85 million. The facility, which will have a 3,200-square-meter floor area, aims to serve as a hub for halal research, training, product development, and industry collaboration in the Bangsamoro region. Once completed, the Center is expected to support the growing demand for halal-certified products and services while advancing scientific research, professional training, and economic opportunities in the halal industry.
