General Policies On Scholarships And Grants

(TERTIARY LEVEL)

Privileges granted to a select group of students in the campus are generally classified as scholarships or grants. A scholarship refers to privileges obtained on the basis of one's high score in the MSU System Admission and Scholarship Examination (SASE) (administered annually throughout Mindanao) or very good scholastic performance. A grant, while not disregarding such factors, is based more on other attributes such as special skills or one's ethnic origin.

Scholarships and Grants

Privileges granted to a select group of students in the MSU-Tawi-Tawi campus are generally classified as scholarships or grants. A scholarship refers to privileges obtained on the basis of one's a sufficiently high score in the Mindanao State University System Admission and Scholarship Examination (MSU-SASE) or an academic performance deemed at least "very good". A grant, requiring only a minimum level of scholastic proficiency, is based more on other attributes such as special skills or talents, indigent family background, or even one's ethnic origin.

General Scholarship Application Process

Present Requirements

Present the checklist A (Official Copy of Evaluation of Grades and COR) to the scholarship personnel to get the application form

2

Complete Application

Fill out the form and attach the checklist A

3

Registrar Certification

Submit the form to the Registrar's office to certify the CGPA

4

Submit to Admissions

Proceed to the Admissions and Scholarships office to submit accomplished form and attached requirements

5

Qualification Review

The Chief of Admissions and Scholarships will determine the scholarships/grants the student can qualify

6

Final Approval

The Chief of Admissions and Scholarships will sign/approve the application

Secure Application Form

Secure a form from the Admissions and Scholarships office

Complete and Attach Documents

Fill out the form and attach the checklist B (certifications, 2x2 picture, COR)

3

Submit Application

Submit the accomplished form and attached requirements to the Admissions and Scholarships office

4

Screening Committee Review

The Admissions and Scholarships office will endorse the application to the Screening committee

5

Chancellor Approval

Sign/Approve the application by the Chancellor

Honors Graduate Application Process (Incoming Freshmen)

Submit Requirements

Submit the checklist C (SASE score and ranking certification) to the admissions and scholarships personnel during admission period

2

Personnel Approval

Approve the scholarships/grants by the admissions and scholarships personnel

Special Note for Honors Graduates

This streamlined process is specifically for incoming freshmen who graduated with honors and have achieved the required SASE scores and ranking (1st to 4th place).

A General Requirements

  • Official Copy of Evaluation of Grades
  • Copy of Certificate of Registration (COR)
  • *To be requested from the Registrar's office

B Badjao Grant Requirements

  • Certification from school principal
  • Certification from barangay chairman
  • 2x2 picture
  • Copy of Certificate of Registration (COR)

C Honors Graduate Requirements

  • SASE Score of Rating not lower than median score
  • Certification of Ranking (rank 1st to 4th)

Process on Shifting/Readmission

1

Present your official copy of evaluation of grades to admission personnel

2

Secure and fill-up an Application for Shifting/Re-admission form

3

Bring the endorsed Application for Shifting/Re-admission to the appropriate registration adviser for action

4

Bring back the Application for Shifting/Re-admission to the Admissions and Scholarships Office

5

Secure the Notice of Shifting from the Admissions officer

Note: Your application will either be approved or disapproved depending on whether or not you are able to meet the required CGPA to the concerned program.
