Wilham Hailaya participates in the Leadership Development Program for Higher Education Institutions

Assistant Vice Chancellor Prof. Wilham Hailaya recently participated in the 2024 Leadership Development Program for Higher Education Institutions (LDP-HEIs) in Southeast Asia, organized by the Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA) and the Head Foundation (6th Run), with the theme "Designing and Leading Your University to the Desired Future".

Asst. Vice Chancellor Prof. Hailaya was the only participant from the entire MSU, and among the 33 participants selected from six (6) Southeast Asian countries.

The program spanned five (5) months from February to June 2024, incorporating both online and face-to-face sessions and featuring keynote addresses and one-on-one coaching from renowned leaders in higher education management.

The aim is to empower HEIs to drive positive changes in their communities. Participants engaged in activities like SWOT analysis and asynchronous learning to enhance their leadership skills.

The program culminated on May 6-9 in Bangkok, Thailand, with the design, pitching, and refinement of a Re-Entry Action Plan (REAP). Part of the program included visits to Thailand's top universities: Kasetsart University (co-host) and Chulalungkorn University.

Prof. dr. Hailaya has successfully presented his REAP, which is focused on the research and training leadership competencies of the MSU-TCTO high school administrators and shall be carried out based on the research findings. This will be replicated at the tertiary level among middle-level managers.

The successful execution of Prof. dr. Hailaya's REAP will mark his final completion of the LDP-HEIs in Southeast Asia. His participation in the program underscores his commitment to leadership development and the advancement of higher education.
