Uniting for Financial Excellence: MSU System’s 6th Finance Summit Commences in Zamboanga City

With the theme “OneMSU for Responsible Finance and Fiscal Sustainability,” the 6th Finance Summit of the MSU System begins today, October 28, and ends on October 30 at the Palacio Del Sur, Zamboanga City. Dr. Soraida A. Esmail, the Vice President for Administration and Finance at MSU, delivered an engaging welcome message that underscored the critical need to address financial issues within the institution. She highlighted the importance of employing sound and appropriate practices to navigate these challenges effectively. In addition to ensuring the institution's sustainability, Dr. Esmail emphasized the importance of a proactive approach to financial management in creating an environment that efficiently allocates resources for the benefit of all stakeholders. Her remarks set a collaborative tone, encouraging all participants to engage in meaningful discussions about best practices in financial management. Meanwhile, Atty. Basari D. Mapupuno, President of the MSU System, emphasized the need for fiscal strength and the inclusion of every campus in the system. ₱85-M Halal Research Center to Rise at MSU TCTO, Advancing Halal Innovation in the Bangsamoro

Strengthening its commitment to research, innovation, and community-responsive development, the Mindanao State University Tawi-Tawi College of Technology and Oceanography (MSU TCTO) is set to establish a four-storey Halal Research Center with a total project investment of ₱85 million. The facility, which will have a 3,200-square-meter floor area, aims to serve as a hub for halal research, training, product development, and industry collaboration in the Bangsamoro region. Once completed, the Center is expected to support the growing demand for halal-certified products and services while advancing scientific research, professional training, and economic opportunities in the halal industry.
