TCTO Installs New VCAA, AVC Secondary Education, Honors Promoted Staff The University held a simple ceremony on September 20 at the Maas Kamlon Hall to formally install the newly designated Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Prof. Wilham M. Hailaya, and Acting Assistant Vice Chancellor for Secondary Education, Mr. Jamaluddin S. Sala. Vice Chancellor Hailaya expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him by the administration. He emphasized his commitment to fostering inclusivity and enhancing the University's academic performance. "I commit myself to the continuous improvement and innovation of our academic programs, ensuring that we remain a beacon of learning and a catalyst for intellectual growth," he stated. Assistant Vice Chancellor Sala also conveyed his appreciation to MSU-TCTO and his colleagues, highlighting his goal to enhance the quality of education. "Let us bring this ship, the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Secondary Education, to where it deserves to be; let it continue to thrive and provide the best basic education needs of the people of Tawi-Tawi." Additionally, eight newly promoted and regularized administrative personnel took their oath before the Chancellor. Ms. Erilis, representing the staff, expressed excitement for the opportunity and a commitment to improving their work. "It is an honor to be entrusted with this responsibility. I appreciate our Chancellor for recognizing our contributions, hard work, and her continued belief in us," she said. The following individuals were newly promoted and regularized by the MSU Board of Regents: 1. Sharifa Dianne A. Aming - Admin Aide VI 2. Elshel A. Soblechero - Admin Aide III 3. Michelle T. Strengthening its commitment to research, innovation, and community-responsive development, the Mindanao State University Tawi-Tawi College of Technology and Oceanography (MSU TCTO) is set to establish a four-storey Halal Research Center with a total project investment of ₱85 million. The facility, which will have a 3,200-square-meter floor area, aims to serve as a hub for halal research, training, product development, and industry collaboration in the Bangsamoro region. Once completed, the Center is expected to support the growing demand for halal-certified products and services while advancing scientific research, professional training, and economic opportunities in the halal industry.
