TCTO conducts SportsFest '23

To promote health and wellness, MSU-TCTO conducted a Sports Festival last August 28-30 at the MSU Open Field and Henry V. Kong Gymnasium.

The Sports Festival is jointly funded by Sen. Edgardo “Sonny” Angara and the Philippine Sports Commission. This activity not only promotes physical well-being but also strengthens teamwork, sportsmanship, and camaraderie among the TCTO constituents.

Political Affairs Officer Mr. Nino A. Nuńez from the Office of Senator Sonny Angara delivered a short message during the program. He was also joined by his colleague Mr. Rhom Frias

The MSU-TCTO SportsFest 2023 activities include Men and Women’s volleyball, Men’s Basketball, Lawn Tennis, and Laro ng Lahi. Meanwhile, the Kyokushinryu Karate Tawi-Tawi Dojo performed an exhibition while Cultural Street Dancers presented during the SportFest.

The University would like to thank the Honorable Senator Juan Edgardo "Sonny" Angara and Philippine Sports Commission Chair Richard Bachmann for this initiative. Tunay na AlangangAngara!

₱85-M Halal Research Center to Rise at MSU TCTO, Advancing Halal Innovation in the Bangsamoro

Strengthening its commitment to research, innovation, and community-responsive development, the Mindanao State University Tawi-Tawi College of Technology and Oceanography (MSU TCTO) is set to establish a four-storey Halal Research Center with a total project investment of ₱85 million. The facility, which will have a 3,200-square-meter floor area, aims to serve as a hub for halal research, training, product development, and industry collaboration in the Bangsamoro region. Once completed, the Center is expected to support the growing demand for halal-certified products and services while advancing scientific research, professional training, and economic opportunities in the halal industry.
