With the theme, โ€œCreating Opportunities, Transforming Lives,โ€ the University celebrated its 54th Charter Day on August 4, with MSU System Secretary Atty. Shidik T. Abantas, MDM as Charter Day Speaker.

In her opening address, Chancellor Mary Joyce Z. Guinto-Sali reaffirmed the University's enduring commitment to delivering exceptional education to Tawi-Tawians over the years. She also urged the University constituents to be more engaged as the Institution takes strides toward its internationalization goals.

"On our 54th year, it is our sacred duty to continue the aspirations of our forefathers and strengthen the MSU legacy of teaching minds and transforming lives. Let us continue supporting each other as we build a better MSU-TCTO, future-ready and responsive to the needs of our communities."

Atty. Shidik T. Abantas, MDM, the Secretary of the University and the Board of Regents of the Mindanao State Univesity, was the Guest of Honor and Charter Day Speaker. He was formally introduced by the Chancellor.

Atty. Shidik T. Abantas finished the degree of Bachelor of Arts in English Language Studies and Literature Studies from Xavier University โ€“ Ateneo de Cagayan. He then took up Juris Doctor and finished at Liceo de Cagayan University. He also finished Master in Development Management from the Asian Institute of Management and is a candidate for a Master of Laws degree from San Beda University.

Atty. Abanatas made history again when he was appointed as the youngest Secretary of the University and the Board of Regents of the Mindanao State University, wherein he led the massive digitization of the operations and record-keeping of the office.

In his message, the University Secretary thanked the administration for the invitation and emphasized the essence of TCTOโ€™s theme. โ€œ

As we commemorate the Charter of TCTO today, we do so under the inspiring theme of "Creating Opportunities, Transforming Lives." This theme encapsulates the very essence of MSU-TCTO's existence and mission - to empower individuals through education and bring about positive changes that uplift entire communities.โ€

โ€œAs we celebrate this Charter Day, let us rededicate ourselves to the noble mission of MSU-TCTO - to create opportunities that empower individuals, families, and communities, and to transform lives for a better and brighter future. Let this day serve as a reminder of our shared purpose and collective responsibility to make a lasting impact on the world," he added.

University constituents joined and participated in the Opening Parade from the field of the University to the intersection near Sanga-Sanga Airport and back to the Henry V. Kong Gymnasium.

In the same event, Dir. Alnasul K. Sali, Head Executive Assistant and Chief-of-Staff, administered the oath of sportsmanship to all the players who took part in the games. Dr. Sali emphasized the value of sportsmanship and promoting camaraderie with the other players.
