**TCTO and Barangay Sanga-Sanga Sign MOA to Strengthen Community Ties** The University formalized its partnership with Barangay Sanga-Sanga, Bongao, Tawi-Tawi, through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on October 10 at the Sabdani J. Bulante Hall. Chancellor Prof. Mary Joyce Z. Guinto-Sali represented the University, while Chairman Edwin L. Jamma signed on behalf of the barangay. The event was attended by Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Prof. Wilham M. Hailaya, Mrs. Shermalyn Hayudini, and other barangay guests. Facilitated by the College of Education Extension Committee, led by Prof. Al-Rashiff H. Mastul, this marks the first formal partnership with Barangay Sanga-Sanga. In recognition of excellence in quality assurance, University Chancellor Prof. Mary Joyce Z. Guinto-Sali, Ph.D. was conferred the Manuel T. ₱85-M Halal Research Center to Rise at MSU TCTO, Advancing Halal Innovation in the Bangsamoro
Strengthening its commitment to research, innovation, and community-responsive development, the Mindanao State University Tawi-Tawi College of Technology and Oceanography (MSU TCTO) is set to establish a four-storey Halal Research Center with a total project investment of ₱85 million. The facility, which will have a 3,200-square-meter floor area, aims to serve as a hub for halal research, training, product development, and industry collaboration in the Bangsamoro region. Once completed, the Center is expected to support the growing demand for halal-certified products and services while advancing scientific research, professional training, and economic opportunities in the halal industry.
