Prof. Benecito L. Maratas, the outgoing Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, hands over his position to the incoming VCAA, Prof. Wilham M. Hailaya.

In a simple ceremony held yesterday, August 22, at the Conference Room, Prof. Benecito L. Maratas, the outgoing Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, officially handed over to the incoming Vice Chancellor, Prof. Wilham M. Hailaya.

Following his retirement, Prof. Maratas delivered his message. He reiterated his trust in Prof. Hailayaโ€™s ability to uphold the responsibilities and commitment of the Vice Chancellor position.

Chancellor Mary Joyce Z. Guinto-Sali acknowledged Prof. Maratasโ€™ dedicated service and commitment during his tenure while expressing confidence that Prof. Hailaya will continue to uphold the Universityโ€™s mission and vision.

The facility, which will have a 3,200-square-meter floor area, aims to serve as a hub for halal research, training, product development, and industry collaboration in the Bangsamoro region. Once completed, the Center is expected to support the growing demand for halal-certified products and services while advancing scientific research, professional training, and economic opportunities in the halal industry.
