In a significant partnership, Vice Rector Prof. dr. Achmad Nurmandi from Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyokarta (UMY) met with TCTO officials led by Chancellor Mary Joyce Z. Guinto-Sali on May 17 at the Conference Room, Sabdani J. Bulante Hall.

Prof. dr. Nurmandi visited Tawi-Tawi for a joint initiative with MSU-Tawi-Tawi with the aim of providing students, faculty, and staff with enriching opportunities for global engagement and academic exchange. Both institutions are poised to enhance the quality of education, foster innovation, and promote cultural understanding.

This partnership underscores the University's commitment to delivering excellence in education, research, and innovation while embracing diversity and globalization.

₱85-M Halal Research Center to Rise at MSU TCTO, Advancing Halal Innovation in the Bangsamoro

Strengthening its commitment to research, innovation, and community-responsive development, the Mindanao State University Tawi-Tawi College of Technology and Oceanography (MSU TCTO) is set to establish a four-storey Halal Research Center with a total project investment of ₱85 million. The facility, which will have a 3,200-square-meter floor area, aims to serve as a hub for halal research, training, product development, and industry collaboration in the Bangsamoro region. Once completed, the Center is expected to support the growing demand for halal-certified products and services while advancing scientific research, professional training, and economic opportunities in the halal industry.
