On Sunday, January 7, the MSU-TCTO Sapa-Sapa Junior High School marked a significant milestone with the inauguration of a newly-constructed, single-storey building comprising four classrooms. The event was graced by the presence of the Chancellor of MSU Tawi-Tawi, Dr. Mary Joyce Z. Guinto-Sali, along with other esteemed school officials, who gathered to commemorate the project’s completion.

Constructed by MIJJ Construction at a cost of nearly P5-million, the new building is a testament to the university’s commitment to delivering quality education to the students of Tawi-Tawi. The facility is designed to accommodate an increased number of learners and foster a conducive learning environment.

Expressing his deep gratitude towards the administration, School Principal Mr. Ben-Auf Sarafil highlighted the significant impact of the new building. He emphasized its role in enhancing the students’ learning experience and fostering an environment that promotes growth. Mr. Sarafil also shared his optimistic vision for the school’s continuous improvement and advancement in the coming years.

In his address to the officials, he stated, “As we move forward under the benevolent leadership of our generous Chancellor, we remain patient and hopeful, eagerly anticipating a future filled with more opportunities for MSU-TCTO Sapa-Sapa Junior High School. We look forward to further enriching the educational experience of our students in the years to come.”

Chancellor Guinto-Sali, in her speech, reaffirmed her commitment to supporting all units of MSU Tawi-Tawi across different school sites. She encouraged the teachers and staff of the Secondary Education Department to be innovative and resilient in their roles, stating, “We can always be successful when we are in sync and working together as one. Always strive for excellence and stay grounded. Be receptive to your students and flexible in imparting knowledge.”

She further added, “My commitment to the Secondary Education Department remains steadfast: no one shall be left behind. Join me in creating more opportunities and transforming lives for the people of Tawi-Tawi.”

The ceremonial turnover was attended by various distinguished guests, including representatives from the Local Government Unit of Sapa-Sapa, underscoring the importance of this collaboration. The event was a significant occasion, witnessed by the University’s management team and the school’s constituents.

The new building at MSU-TCTO Sapa-Sapa Junior High School symbolizes the University’s dedication to providing quality education and improving the lives of the people of Tawi-Tawi. The ongoing infrastructure projects under the leadership of Chancellor Guinto-Sali clearly indicate the University’s commitment to progress and development.
