MSU-TCTO proudly congratulates Mr. Ariel J. Ricablangca on his role as a co-author of the 2nd edition of Science, Technology, and Society, published by Rex Education.

A Registered Fisheries Professional, Mr. Ricablangca is a Science Research Assistant and Guest Lecturer at MSU-TCTO, he has reached a significant milestone in education and science communication. He is among the authors of the newly released 2nd Edition of Science, Technology, and Society (STS) — a nationally distributed textbook published by REX Book Store Inc. Designed for students in state universities and colleges (SUCs) across the Philippines, this edition serves as a vital resources for understanding the intersection of scientific advancement, ethics, and societal impact.

“This book is more than just a textbook,” Ricablangca shared.

“It’s a conversation — a bridge between science, ethics, culture, and the human experience. Becoming one of its authors was one of those unexpected blessings, and I’m deeply honored to have had a hand in shaping it.”

The revised edition of Science, Technology, and Society is a comprehensive resource that deepens learners’ understanding of the dynamic interplay between scientific progress and societal development. Beyond theoretical knowledge, the book emphasizes ethical reflection, social responsibility, and servant leadership—equipping students to become informed citizens and future innovators. Designed with activity-based and project-based assessments, it encourages critical thinking and real-world application.

Mr. Ricablangca expressed gratitude to the Chancellor Prof. Mary Joyce Z. Guinto-Sali for her encouragement to his academic pursuits and continuously championing initiatives that serve the broader community.

He also acknowledged his distinguished co-authors and mentors, whose academic excellence and dedication helped shape the textbook. These include Eden Joy Pastor Alata, MSc, who earned her Master’s degree from De La Salle University-Manila; Antonnette B. Pawilen, an alumna of the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB); Ann Joan Hope Vallespin-Caparas, MSc, a graduate of Ateneo de Manila University; and Prof. Greg Tabios Pawilen, PhD, a full professor at the UPLB College of Human Ecology and the UPLB Graduate School, who holds PhD in Curriculum Studies from the University of the Philippines Diliman.
