MSU-TCTO ILS Science High School Secures 2nd Runner-up at BARMM Regional Festival of Talents

The students of Integrated Laboratory School - Science High School made their mark at the BARMM Regional Festival of Talents, held on April 28 in Upi, Maguindanao. This annual event brings together young minds from across the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) to showcase their skills in various academic and creative competitions.

Competing in three categories, the MSU-TCTO ILS Science High School students achieved remarkable results:

Fatima Princess Adele Musa & Abdul-Rauf W. Nami – Champion, AGHAMazing (Research) Omisha Y. Tahil – 1st Runner-up, HISTOPOP (Impromptu Speech) Shanieka Jade Gambe – 2nd Runner-up, HISTOPOP (Pop Quiz)

Their success was made possible with the guidance of their dedicated mentors: Ms. Abigail E. Pon, Altan I. Ishmael, and Sonny C. Abdurasid, who played a key role in preparing them for the competition.

With their combined efforts, the school earned the 2nd Runner-up overall in the Secondary Level, competing against nine (9) other divisions across BARMM. Their dedication and hard work paid off, proving their capability to excel in academic contests at the regional level. The champions from each category will now advance to the National competition, carrying the pride of BARMM and the school as they prepare for an even bigger challenge.

This achievement is a testament to the talent, perseverance, and commitment of the Baby Dolphins. As they prepare for the national stage, they carry with them the hopes and aspirations of their school and the BARMM community, ready to showcase their talents at an even higher level.

Strengthening its commitment to research, innovation, and community-responsive development, the Mindanao State University Tawi-Tawi College of Technology and Oceanography (MSU TCTO) is set to establish a four-storey Halal Research Center with a total project investment of ₱85 million. The facility, which will have a 3,200-square-meter floor area, aims to serve as a hub for halal research, training, product development, and industry collaboration in the Bangsamoro region. Once completed, the Center is expected to support the growing demand for halal-certified products and services while advancing scientific research, professional training, and economic opportunities in the halal industry.
