MSU Tawi-Tawi Congratulates Prof. Dr. Achmad Nurmandi on His Appointment as UMY Rektor

🌟

MSU Tawi-Tawi extends its warmest congratulations to

Prof. Dr. Achmad Nurmandi, M. Sci.

, on his appointment as the new Rektor (Head of University) of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY), Indonesia.

Since 2023, UMY has been a valued institutional partner of MSU TCTO. In May 2024,

Pak Rektor Nurmandi

personally visited Tawi-Tawi to formalize a Memorandum of Agreement between UMY and the Provincial Local Government Unit of Tawi-Tawi. This agreement facilitates scholarship opportunities for MSU-TCTO personnel to pursue graduate programs at UMY. Additionally, UMY hosted the first visiting professor from MSU-TCTO, marking a significant milestone in our academic exchange initiatives.

Further agreements will be forged between UMY and MSU TCTO to establish student and faculty exchange programs, further enriching our collaboration.

The University is optimistic that

Prof. Nurmandi's

vision and leadership will propel UMY to even greater heights and further strengthen the partnership between our institutions.

Strengthening its commitment to research, innovation, and community-responsive development, the Mindanao State University Tawi-Tawi College of Technology and Oceanography (MSU TCTO) is set to establish a four-storey Halal Research Center with a total project investment of ₱85 million. The facility, which will have a 3,200-square-meter floor area, aims to serve as a hub for halal research, training, product development, and industry collaboration in the Bangsamoro region. Once completed, the Center is expected to support the growing demand for halal-certified products and services while advancing scientific research, professional training, and economic opportunities in the halal industry.
