A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was signed between Mindanao State University Tawi-Tawi College of Technology and Oceanography (MSU TCTO) and Julfekar Music Malaysia on September 6, 2024, at the Sabdani J. Bulante Hall Conference Room.

The agreement was signed by Mr. Julfekar Ahmad Shah, the Managing Director of Julfekar Music Malaysia, and MSU-TCTO Chancellor, Prof. Mary Joyce Z. Guinto-Sali, PhD.

The collaboration, initiated by the Office of Cultural Affairs and Development (OCAD), aims to establish a state-of-the-art recording studio on the MSU TCTO campus. The studio will provide a platform for local artists and cultural practitioners to hone their skills and showcase the rich musical heritage of Tawi-Tawi and the Sulu Archipelago. It is expected that this partnership will create new opportunities for talent development and cross-cultural exchange between Malaysia and the Philippines.
