Driving Innovation and Education: DOST-SEI Visits MSU-TCTO

Dr. Jayeel S. Cornelio, Director of the Department of Science and Technology - Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI), with his team, is set to visit MSU-TCTO on March 24-26. The visit adopts the theme:

DOST-SEI at MSU Tawi-Tawi: Strengthening Science Education and Research to Transform Lives.

This engagement will showcase DOST-SEI’s scholarship programs, training opportunities, and capacity-building initiatives. These efforts aim to empower faculty and students with essential tools to drive innovation and create meaningful change in communities.

Aligned with MSU-TCTO’s mission of fostering opportunities, this initiative contributes to sustainable local and national development while championing key Sustainable Development Goals:

₱85-M Halal Research Center to Rise at MSU TCTO, Advancing Halal Innovation in the Bangsamoro

Strengthening its commitment to research, innovation, and community-responsive development, the Mindanao State University Tawi-Tawi College of Technology and Oceanography (MSU TCTO) is set to establish a four-storey Halal Research Center with a total project investment of ₱85 million. The facility, which will have a 3,200-square-meter floor area, aims to serve as a hub for halal research, training, product development, and industry collaboration in the Bangsamoro region. Once completed, the Center is expected to support the growing demand for halal-certified products and services while advancing scientific research, professional training, and economic opportunities in the halal industry.
