Ankara University, MSU-TCTO Forge Global Partnership to Advance Sustainability Through Academic Collaboration

Ankara University and Mindanao State University-Tawi-Tawi College of Technology and Oceanography (MSU-TCTO) have formalized a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that underscores their commitment to academic and cultural exchange while aligning with the principles of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The MoU fosters collaborative efforts in research, faculty exchange, student mobility, and the sharing of educational resources. Significantly, it paves the way for joint initiatives centered on sustainability, enabling both institutions to actively contribute to global efforts tackling environmental, social, and economic challenges.

Signed during the Global Sustainable Development Congress in Istanbul, Türkiye, from June 16 to 19, 2025, the agreement was formalized by Prof. Dr. Necdet Ünüvar, Rector of Ankara University, and Prof. Dr. Mary Joyce Z. Guinto-Sali, Chancellor of MSU-TCTO, reflecting their shared vision of academic excellence and global cooperation.

Chancellor Guinto-Sali was accompanied by Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Dr. Wilham Hailaya, Quality Assurance and Accreditation Director Al-Kwarizhme Abdusalam, and International Linkages Director Assoc. Prof. Kartini Amilassan. Their participation in the congress highlights MSU-TCTO’s active engagement in global conversations on sustainability and academic leadership.

With Ankara University’s long-standing expertise in higher education and MSU-TCTO’s commitment to oceanographic and technological advancements, this partnership leverages interdisciplinary collaboration to drive innovation and sustainable solutions. By integrating SDGs into academic cooperation, both institutions reaffirm their dedication to fostering impactful research, responsible education, and global knowledge-sharing.

By forging this partnership, Ankara University and MSU-TCTO strengthen their role as leaders in research, education, and sustainable development, paving the way for innovative solutions that contribute to global progress.
