On January 6, the MSU-TCTO Tabawan Junior High School celebrated the inauguration and formal turnover of two newly-constructed, single-storey, four-classroom school buildings. The event was graced by university officials, including Chancellor Mary Joyce Z. Guinto-Sali.

The School Principal, Mr. Mensalim D. Tanji, opened the ceremony with a heartfelt message. He described the new buildings as a testament to the current administration’s commitment to the people of Tabawan.

“We are deeply grateful to Chancellor Mary-Joyce Z. Guinto Sali and her team for these two magnificent school buildings. They have made a significant difference to our community, benefiting not only our faculty, staff, and students, but also the residents of Tabawan,” he said.

The projects, which cost nearly P5 million each, were executed by ALMS Construction and Elaira Marl MS Construction.

In her address, Chancellor Mary Joyce Z. Guinto-Sali commended the Tabawan Junior High School for their unwavering dedication. She reaffirmed her pledge of support to the university’s basic education units under the Office of the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Secondary Education.

“As we strive to invest resources in our community high schools, I encourage our teachers and staff to be innovative and resilient in their instructional and research roles. Success is achievable when we work in harmony and unity. In the coming months, we will make training available for teachers. We are more than willing to assist with any training or workshop needs through our collegiate faculty and partner institutions. Strive for excellence!” she urged.

The Chancellor also expressed her gratitude for the support of the Local Government of the Municipality of South Ubian to MSU-TCTO. Hon. Hadzri H. Matba, Mayor, and Hon. Hadji-Tahil Asaali, Chairman of Barangay Pampang, were present during the inauguration and site visits.

“Join me in creating more opportunities and transforming lives for the people of Tawi-Tawi,” the Chancellor concluded.

The inauguration of the new school buildings at MSU-TCTO Tabawan Junior High School marks a significant milestone in the educational landscape of Tabawan. This development not only enhances the learning environment for students but also symbolizes the collective effort and commitment of the university officials, local government, and the community towards education. As we look forward to more such initiatives, we remain hopeful that these efforts will continue to transform lives and create a brighter future for the people of Tawi-Tawi.
