In recognition of excellence in quality assurance, University Chancellor Prof. Mary Joyce Z. Guinto-Sali, Ph.D. was conferred the Manuel T. Corpus Outstanding Quality Champion Award 2026, the highest distinction granted by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP), during the 39th AACCUP National Conference and General Assembly held on March 24, 2026 at the Century Park Hotel, Malate, Metro Manila.

She is the first recipient of the Manuel T. Corpus Outstanding Quality Champion Award in the Bangsamoro, marking a significant milestone for MSU TCTO and the region’s higher education sector, while the same recognition was likewise conferred upon Chancellor Alizedney M. Ditucalan of Mindanao State University–Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT), highlighting a shared commitment among MSU System leaders in advancing quality assurance and institutional excellence.

Chancellor Guinto-Sali personally received the award during the ceremony and was joined by Chief-of-Staff and Head Executive Assistant Atty. Alnasul Sali and Quality Assurance Director Al-Kwarizme Abdusalam, who continue to play key roles in advancing the University’s quality assurance initiatives.

The Manuel T. Corpus Outstanding Quality Champion Award is the highest recognition given by AACCUP to SUC leaders who have demonstrated exemplary commitment to quality assurance and the effective implementation of quality management systems in their respective institutions, further reinforcing MSU TCTO’s commitment to quality assurance.

This recognition affirms the University’s continued efforts in strengthening institutional quality assurance, promoting academic excellence, and ensuring the delivery of responsive and relevant higher education programs.

Under the leadership of Chancellor Guinto-Sali, the University has sustained its initiatives toward quality improvement, institutional development, and service to the community.

In a statement, Chancellor Guinto-Sali expressed her gratitude for the recognition, emphasizing that the award reflects the collective efforts of the University community.

“This recognition is a testament to the shared commitment of MSU TCTO in upholding quality standards in higher education. It inspires us to continue strengthening our systems, improving our programs, and serving our community with integrity and excellence.”
