57th Anniversary of the Jabidah Massacre

Today, the Bangsamoro Government solemnly remembers the tragic events of 57 years ago, when 23 Tausug and Sama military recruits were cruelly executed on Corregidor Island.

Known as the Jabidah Massacre, this devastating incident became a turning point in Bangsamoro history, awakening the consciousness of the Moro people and fueling their pursuit of self-determination.

As we celebrate this year’s Bangsamoro History Month with the theme, "Paggunita sa Nakaraan, Aral ng Kasalukuyan, Daan Tungo sa Mapayapang Kinabukasan," may this event serve as both a reminder for future generations and a testament to the "seeds of the modern Bangsamoro struggle," as stated by BARMM Chief Minister Ahod Ebrahim in his speech on the Jabidah narrative three years ago.
